This perfectly, imperfectly large bowl is wheel thrown in specked clay.  The rim is just slightly misshaped as a result of it drying too quickly but the defect is hardly noticeable. 

The hand-painted matte glaze invokes its namesake.   The glaze is food, microwave, and dishwasher safe (though hand washing is recommended for its longevity).
