Black Stoneware and Porcelain Neriage Vessel

Black stoneware clay is mixed with porcelain and thrown on the potter’s wheel in a technique called Neriage in Japan (pronounced nair-ee-ah-gee). Glazed on the inside with clear matte glaze so that it is watertight.  The finished glaze piece is sanded by hand to create an extra smooth surface and causes the fine sand in the black clay to shimmer.

One of a kind and stamped with potter's mark for authenticity.

Care Instructions: Wash by hand if needed.
