The Ripple series is inspired by water’s dance with light; frozen in time. White stoneware clay is mixed with hand prepared color clay and thrown on the potter’s wheel in a technique called Neriage in Japan (pronounced nair-ee-ah-gee).

Each piece is hand sanded at each of the clay’s stages (green, bisque, glaze) & glazed in a clear matte inside. The outside is left raw and sanded up to 1200 grit so that it is silky smooth. Each piece varies and pays homage to the potter’s dialogue with the clay.
